Like the mythical Phoenix rising from the ashes of its own funeral pyre The Phoenix Recorder Consort arose around the time of the Ash Wednesday bush fires and they too, are legends in their own lifetime. The Consort plays the whole range of recorders: Sopranino, Soprano (descant), Treble, Tenor, Bass and Great Bass and, on occasion, the Sub-Contra Bass. Its eclectic repertoire includes authentic recorder music from the Renaissance and contemporary perioda and arrangements of medieval, classical, folk, Victorian Parlour, ragtime and swing music. They are available for school demonstrations, fetes, dinners, weddings, art exhibitions, etc.
