Odd Sock was created in 2005 by a group of Drama Students at Bendigo Senior Secondary and their teacher Penny Larkins, it was an opportunity for local young people to put on performances, make and create theatre as well as help the community by creating workshops for Primary Schools and providing theatrical volunteers for local events.
It is a company run by youth for youth and are now based at B-Central. The group get together every week to share their love of performance and they are always welcoming others who wish to get involved to do so.
What started with aknock out performance locally written, rehearsed and produced show "Did you hear?" and a Comedy Night at the Leadlight Cafe has gone on to do other things such as being the mascots at the Kids carnival, commedia workshops toured to many schools including those outside bendigo and other drama events. Odd Sock has now changed committee after a year of abcense and with B-Central taking them on board Odd Sock is looking to do much more.
