Central Victorian Women's Choir performing as Women of Note

Group Type:
Choir

Central Victorian Women’s Choir performing as ‘Women of Note’ sing for health, harmony and confidence. All women are welcome to join our non-auditioning, performing choir. Our choir members come from diverse backgrounds and have a variety of musical experiences that we share together in a supportive environment.
As a group of women we meet once a week (Wednesday 7 – 9 pm) to share and enjoy fabulous music and friendship at the YWCA in Townsend Street, Bendigo.

‘Women of Note’ embrace music from a variety of sources; singing traditional songs from around the world, classical, folk, popular music and more. We also find many creative and fun ways of performing including ‘a capella’, accompanied with percussion, vocal ensembles and soloists. By networking with other groups and choirs across Central Victoria and Melbourne, we enjoy a variety of singing experiences and influences for our choir.

Central Victorian Women’s Choir was formed in 1999 by Christine Sass, our first Musical Director with Jane Thompson as Assistant Director. Since then the choir has enjoyed the wonderful talents and experiences of Andrée Cozens, Linda Browne and presently Kirsten Boerema as Musical Director. In 2004, after a vote by the members, we decided to use the name ‘Women of Note’ as our performing name. The choir has performed at a number of venues for a variety of private, corporate and community events in Bendigo, Central Victoria and Melbourne.

Talk to us and ‘Women of Note’ will add our voices to the success of your next event.
